[Solved] OpenOffice doesn't recognize Java

Hi,

I´m new here, so forgive me if I don´t know all the rules yet.
I have a the following problem: OpenOffice does´nt recognize java.
OpenOffice version: 4.1.12 on windows 10
I installed the 32bit version of java and tried to manually add it in OO in the settings. I think to have shown the right path as well: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_333\bin but am confronted with the message that file does not have the jre in it. It is definitely there, as it is detected by Uninstaller. I´ve tried:
updating OO, updating Java, restarting the computer. I´ve searched different threats as well to no result.
By now I´m desperate. Can anyone help???

Edit: Changed subject, was Apache and Java  Presumably the topic is about OpenOffice even though the Apache organization has more than 200 projects.  Make your post understandable by others  -- MrProgrammer, forum moderator

No. Just install LibreOffice.

Let's down Oracle JRE.
Download Adoptium Temurin and install it.

thank you, that seemed to work.

Just half an hour after the original post, OpenOffice decided to see the JRE and everything worked. Today it disappeared again.
I hope it stays this time
