See if Q39/A39 in Tutorial: Mac FAQ helps.

Without being able to see your monitor it is a little hard to say what your problem might be. For a wild guess you have turned on View | Non-printing characters - which you can toggle with that menu item or using (the equivalent of) Ctrl + F10.

If that isn't the solution, perhaps a screen shot might help. See How to attach a document for details regarding attaching a document. Note maximum file size is 128K. If your file is larger, use a file sharing site such as Mediafire and post the link here. Crop images as needed and reduce the colour depth if the image is too big.

And for another wild guess, if the arrows appear above the text area, perhaps you have toggled Tools | Gallery ??

Or if the arrows are in the text, and there are backwards P characters and black dots between words, you may have toggled /View /Non printing characters./

Don't remember ever seeing that arrow on the right of the text area.
Can you upload the file (that page only may be enough).
Note: can't see the 2nd file without logging-in (which I won't do).
You can resize or save in .jpg o that it fits the 128KB limit here.

here is a screen recording of my screen. Its so hard to describe by typing only sorry. I'm using a mac computer.I checked the non printing view its off.I also tried uninstalling the open office and reinstalling it again but nothings changed. Is there a possible way that i could reset the app? i think it might be the only solution to my problem.

Thank you so much for all the help :)

Hi just an update i clicked the button named direct cursor on the right side and its seems that was the problem. It was turned on which i didn't know about the option or button. My view seems to went back to normal no more blurry texts when i try to type and view my document. I have never watched a tutorial on open office huhu so i didn't know much about the app.

Everyone on the internet who helped me I would like to say thank you so much for all time and help!! :) God bless you all!! :)

Weird. Seems to be a bug. No big deal I guess since the direct cursor mode is not very useful IMHO (I hadn't noticed the cursor change).
No such issue on my Xubuntu machine with LO 7.0.5 with direct cursor.
