[Solved] Dictionary migration from Win7 to Win10

Postby doctordreez » Tue Nov 26, 2019 3:46 pm

Until yesterday i had windows 7, Open Office 417, Greek Dictionary 1.0.0, and everything was fine.
Today i install windows 10, O.O. 417, the exact same dictionary, i transfer the AppData\Roaming\OpenOffice from Win7 to Win10, but the corrections that i have made are all lost.
Do u have any idea what to do?
Is there any other folder in Win10 where i have to put my old AppData?

PS: What is the exact dictionary file into the AppData? How many bytes supposed to be?

Under Windows, you can install the extension for all users IIRC. Meaning that it may install the extension in the Program files folder of Windows and not in the user profile. That's how I explain that the transfer of your user profile did not carry the whole configuration.

Dics are installed with extensions. I think you're left to install again the dictionary.

Please add [Solved] at the beginning of the title in your first post (top of the topic) with the *EDIT button if your issue has been fixed.

Also. In Win10 the AppData folder is not placed under my username but into another folder named Default.

When you install the dictionary extension, you have the choice IIRC to install for you only (in your user profile) or for all users. In the latter case, it is certainly in another location, thus not in the user profile you've transferred.

If you have a dedicated account on your machine then it should be in that roaming profile, not in the default one.

No app data no roaming data under my username.
I already told that i do the extension install manually through OO, so the program does not ask anything about IIRC.
