[Issue] Some tokens are shifted

Postby liniandv » Thu Jan 17, 2013 7:04 am

OpenOffice 3.4.1, Windows 8. Office has default settings like fonts and spacing.
Formulas "2 cdot 3 = 6" and "sqrt {16} = 4" looks like

The "cdot" is selected in editor and you can see it's bounding box. But the dot symbol is outside this box. Also the root symbol is torn.
How to fix it? I had not such problems on Windows 7.

he only thing I can think of is that Win8 may have substituted font data. See if Math uses expected fonts (the Format menu).

Also, did you create the formulas using your own computer, and was it exported from Apache OO? (The filename of the picture starts with "LO", which to me suggests that it may be from LibreOffice.)
Apache OO 3.4.1/4.1.2/4.1.3, on Ms Windows 7/10 and Mac OS-X 10.8.5 and 10.11.

Thanks for reply.
Math uses expected fonts, "Times new roman" for most of token types.

"Bad fonts" was my first idea. I tried to set some other fonts like Arial at "Format"->"Fonts" for every token type with no luck. I also tried a nonstandart font "Linux Libertine" - result was the same.

I created this formula in Apache OO. I also tested LibreOffice for this issue. I made a screenshot of LO's formula so there is "lo" in name, but OO's formula looks the same.

If the cause of problem is Windows 8 then there must be many questions on your forum and stackoverflow and other web, mustn't i? But i cant find anything similar :(

Anyone who are using Win8 pro, please report - do you have the same issue?

You can file a bug report and see what the devs say: [Tutorial] Reporting bugs or suggestions. It seems to be specific to Windows 8.

You should post the link here so that others can access it directly if they want to vote.
