How to make a simple card/ board game in Excel?

Postby mikeyg » Tue Jun 04, 2013 1:33 am

I am looking to copy a simple board game in Excel and looking for any help ideas?

Basically it would be a simple race. Containing 4 counters (blue, green, red and Yellow) and 10 squares each.

There would be 40 cards 10 blue, 10 green, 10 red and 10 yellow. Cards would be draw randomly and the counters move respectively. I would be thinking about starting with =RANDBETWEEN(1,10).

I have no knowledge of VBA/ macro but would welcome ideas with what formulas/ commands to use.

I have added some snapshots to show what I would be looking for.

This forum is not a MS Excel Forum...

But, if you want achieve this task in AOO/LO Calc, then you have similar tools for this...
The StarOffice Basic IDE, the built-in functions of the calc, the form control elements (buttons, etc...), and the API of the AOO/LO Office suite is available to you.

(The API of the MS Office and the AOO/LO is different.)

What you show us in the linked screen shots is very easy to do in Calc.

No macros, nothing advanced. Just a little bit of rounding, SUMIF and STYLE.
