Numerical inconsistency of multiformula chains HELP!

Postby technodragon » Mon Mar 31, 2008 7:26 pm

Here's my problem:

I made an output machine for a character in a video game. It's been in development for about 5 months now and I am very proud of what I have accomplished with it so far. My problem is the numerical values that they return are not consistent all the time. This occurs when a text item or number is selected in a validity list. I believe this is happening because that selection is not updated across the entire workbook on the first selection, and it is taking me 2-3 selections of the same input to get the output that is correct. This only happens with selecting validity lists.

1) The sheet uses textual and numerical validity lists for input
2) The processes contain multiple IF( function chains based on the input
3) The workbook is setup for circular reasoning that works well most of the time

I want to know how to make the thing crank out the correct output in one selection instead of 2-3 (have to press CTRL+SHIFT+Y) multiple times until no change). It would make a lot of people (especially me) very very happy.

I am using 2.3

Can you reproduce the problem with a smaller set of cells?
Or can you tell us what to put where to see the problem?
Please, edit this topic's initial post and add "[Solved]" to the subject line if your problem has been solved.
Ubuntu 18.04, no OpenOffice, LibreOffice 6.4

On the "gear Selection" sheet, go to one of the red tables and change the box in the top left to a different item, change it back to the previous one, and if you go back and forth you will see it doesnt produce the same exact values. I ahvent had the time to try to reproduce with smaller cells because It might possibly not happen. There's so many if functions chained together

I've only tested a few options, but I have not been able to replicate this problem at all, using 2.4 or 3.0dev on XP.
OOo 3.3 on Windows 7 & 3.2.1 on Mint 10
