[Solved] Find and R feature messing up my next page button

Postby T.A.Shaffer » Thu Aug 20, 2020 10:53 pm

When I use the Find and Replace feature in OpenOffice Writer, it uses the Previous and Next page buttons in the lower right section of the navigation bar to advance to the next item found. My problem is that these buttons stay in the Find and Replace mode even after I have closed the search box. This prevents me from using them as page navigators. I have looked through all the options in the menus in my document and searched multiple forums to figure out how to turn this feature off, but I can't find anything.
I have attached a pic of the buttons I am talking about.

Please help!
Thanks,
Tabitha

Click on the little circle that is between the up and down navigation arrows. A small tool bar will appear that allows you to set the action of the arrows. One of the icons is for Page. It is the fifth from the left in the top row on my system. If you select that, the navigation should switch back to the page function.

I have used OpenOffice for more than ten years and I did not know those options existed.

You could add next page and previous page buttons to a toolbar using Tools/Customize which do the same thing and won't change function when the Find dialog is shown.
