Open Office PDF import

Postby tim1603 » Fri Dec 20, 2019 11:23 am

Having installed the extension for open office 4 I am unclear on how to import a PDF into writer. If I select "file - open" from writer the extension launches into open office draw.
Which menu commands are required to open a PDF into writer?

The PDF import for OpenOffice opens the file in Draw and permits cosmetic changes to be made to the PDF file. If you wish to make major changes such as restructuring or rewriting to the PDF file, the OO extension is not what you need.

Start Writer and use File > Open to select and open the file. If the file is a hybrid PDF/ODF file, it will open in Writer. Otherwise, it will open in Draw.

See the tutorial on Writer and PDF files.
LO, Windows 10 Home 64 bit

See the Writer Guide, the Writer FAQ, the Writer Tutorials and Writer for students.

Remember: Always save your Writer files as .odt files. - see here for the many reasons why.
