Postby rhennessy@nyc.rr.com » Tue Nov 26, 2019 5:26 pm

Attempting to open an .otd document using Open Office 4.1.7 and Windows 10. Document will not open and this error code appears 0x80070570.

Can anyone help?

Upload it somewhere so that we can check.
Other files open correctly?

Other documents opening properly.
When attempting to attach the document in question Open Office closes and tells me that the site is unavailable. I took a screenshot of the error message but it is 141 Kb and over the limit.

OpenOffice does not have to be open to attach files to an email message.

Did you try a Google search for the error code? This may be a hardware problem.

Is this the message you got?

Did your browser shut down when you tried to access/upload the file? (Makes no sense to use OpenOffice to attach the file to anything.)

There may be damaged system files in your Windows install, which the file somehow requires (e.g. because of external links, or using dotnet/Java functions). Reboot your computer, and run Windows Update. Then run a virus scan.

How did you try to open the file?
  • Double click from Windows Explorer (the regular file manager)?
  • Menu File - Open in OpenOffice?
  • Right click and Open with...?
  • Some other procedure?
