[Solved] Size of backend db

Hi,

Prior to split some of my tables had a memo field which I understand from the doco are clob datatype in the backend?
At present I have a total of 5 clobs and one blob for images, actual data at present, the clobs are just a one liner, the blob has 2 small images. Total records all tables no more then 50 excluding the reference(lookup tables) which have a pk and a single varchar field.
Checking the size the overall db folder containing everything shows up as 42mb s. Is that normal or should I convert the clobs to some other datatype?
Thanks.

Looking in the HSQL User Guide, the section
Short Guide to Data Types says "The CLOB types is for very large strings. Do not use this type for short strings as there are performance implications"
A few pages later in section
Lob Data is a discussion of the *.lobs file.

Thanks, going to change the datatype as one of my reports has a problem reading a clob as well even though the query displays the contents ok.
