[Solved] Can't "create query in SQL view"

Postby rstaad » Thu Dec 24, 2015 3:39 am

I'm new to OpenOffice and have only used Access in regard to SQL experience and at a very basic level.

I recently purchased Sams Teach Yourself SQL in 10 minutes. In the book, the advise to get OpenOffice. You are provided a file to start with.

I have followed the directions, which direct me to open the file and then open the "Create Query in SQL View" to type in a SELECT statement. However, every time I click on this, nothing happens.

Am I missing something here? Should a window open up? Should the prompt be moved to the lower right box in the Queries window?

Hello,
just a guess: You have to store the file to your harddrive, then open it from there.

Uninstall the OO 4.1.2 version, Base don't work in Mac OSX. Install version 4.1.1. https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/v ... 13&t=80059
