Cannot Open PDF

I cant open PDF files on my computer its my laptop windows xp- when I click on it to open it tends to come up in symbols and says office writer- its a docutment price sheet I need to look at- how do I do this

PDF files do not (in general) open in OpenOffice. Right click on a PDF file, select "Open With" and scroll down to "Adobe Reader". There should be a setting to select "Always open with this Application". If Adobe Reader is not installed on your computer (unlikely), you may download a free copy from
http://get.adobe.com/reader/
Apache OpenOffice 4.1.7 on Xubuntu 18.04.4 (mostly 64 bit version) and very infrequently on Win2K/XP

Check your file associations if double clicking a PDF opens Writer.
