[Solved] ROUND() in reports

Postby gandonov » Thu Oct 09, 2008 1:44 pm

Hello,

I want to round a number in OOo Base.

Example: The real values are 0.123 + 0.123
But now in the report is printed: 0.12 + 0.12 = 0.25
(I'm using SUN Report Builder)
So, I want to create formula ROUND(0.123;2) + ROUND(0.123;2)

I tried to use function ROUND([field];2) in a quiery and in SRB, but without success. (In OOo Calc this function is available.)
I checked the documentation - http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Base/Reports/Functions - but I can not find is there such function at all?

Please, give me advice how to fix this.

Thank you in advance.

EDIT: =====================================================
I found a workaround how to round numbers into Reports.

The problem is that the stored fucntions in OOo Base have different syntax - http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Built-in_functions_and_Stored_Procedures

The right syntax for query is: SELECT ROUND(field,2) FROM table
Now the summary into report is correct (0.12+0.12=0.24)

P.S. By the way, I still cann't use the build-in functions in SRB.
Any Ideas how to use them?

Yes, if you can do it by means of queries this then do it so. It might be more reliable and faster to group, sort, calculate and filter before the reporting engine. No, I have no clue why SRB is such a bastard. I wiped it off my system and have no problem with the simple reports and pretty formatted spreadsheets (import ranges and data pilots). Do you have SRB's 5th bug-release 1.0.5 installed?
Please, edit this topic's initial post and add "[Solved]" to the subject line if your problem has been solved.
