[Solved] Creating Templates from Documents

Postby dld521 » Fri Feb 26, 2010 12:57 am

I have created a template from a document that has the styles I need to use, and I have made it the default template. So far, so good, but every time I open a new document, all the text from the document from which I created the template shows up. I think what I need to do is to delete that text and then save the document as a template again, but I'm concerned that that will also delete all the styles from the template, undoing all the work. Is my fear well grounded or can I go ahead? (I tried to locate the template file through Dolphin so I could make a backup before trying anything, but I've been unable to do that. Where does OOo Writer store templates by default?)
Many thanks.

Deleting the text does not delete the styles.

Thanks much. A little reassurance was all I needed.
