[Solved+Issue] Proposal for document file name

Postby Peter18 » Tue Nov 15, 2011 1:41 pm

A friendly hello to anybody,

today there are 2 questions. I would like do get an overview about the OO Api and I would like to give a proposal for the document file name.
So my questions are:
Is there a structure like a tree showing objekts, methodes and properties I can look at?
Is there any property or method, I can write a proposal for the document file name, as MS word does?
The proposal should be displayed in the filename field at the 'Save as' dialog. The user may accept or change it. I tried "ThisComponent.Title" but it didn't work.

Thank you to anybody who tries to give an answer!

Greetings

Peter

I seem to remember that there is already an extension for this--I know the feature has been discussed here at least.

You might want to try a search.

See [Issue] Save as first sentence. You should subscribe and vote for it (up to 2 votes per issue), Issue 14077.
AOO 4.1.7 on Xubuntu 19.10 and 4.1.5 on Windows 10 (with winPenPack port).

This is working on my environment:
Code: Select all   Expand viewCollapse view
Sub TestSetDefaultFileName
  SetDefaultFileName("TitledDoc")
End Sub

Sub SetDefaultFileName(sFileName As String)
  ThisComponent.setTitle(sFileName)
End Sub

Hello acknak, hello Hagar Delest,

thank you for your answer. But how can I vote? The link "[Issue] Save as first sentence" brought me to a discussion. There I found: "You can register and vote for the enhancement:

Issue 14077: There is not a default name for save a doc (writer)
". Following the link I saw "Not Found".
The solution discussed in that thred is not what I want. I don't want to force storing the document and I am working whith Delphy.

Hello hanya,

thank you too. I tried:
Code: Select all   Expand viewCollapse view
ThisComponent.Title = "TestDoc"
ThisComponent.setTitle( "Test-Doc" )
Both changes the property "Title" but the file name field in the "Save as" dialog is still empty.

Greetings

Both changes the property "Title" but the file name field in the "Save as" dialog is still empty.
It seems version or environment dependent problem. It works with OOo 3.3.0 on both Linux and Windows XP.

See [Tutorial] Reporting bugs or suggestions. The issue tracker has changed. You can use the same bug report number.

I use OO 3.3.0 too and Win XP. I looked through the optons, but I didn't find a checkbox to get the same result as you. Have you got an idea?

Hi,

Empyt? I can see always something like "Untitled 1" for new document without to set title.

Could anybody confirm to work my code? Or I may miss-understand the problem.

Hello hanya,

I found the reason for the different behaviour:
The checkbox "use OpenOffice.org dialog" in
    "OpenOffice.org/Generell"
    "Open/Save dialogs"
has to be checked.

Now I see the "Titel" as proposal for the file name.

Greetings

Hi,
I found the reason for the different behaviour:
The checkbox "use OpenOffice.org dialog" in

"OpenOffice.org/Generell"
"Open/Save dialogs"

has to be checked.
Its funny, the Title value can be used in both system's file picker and office's file picker on my environment. But it seems this problem is solved.
