Union Operator

F union csub{B} csup{C} A

I want to have the equation show the union of R^n from n to infinity. I've gotten as far as the above, but I can't get the union operation to function without a letter on the left. Am I screwing this up, or is it just the designed functionality and I need a different command than "union"?

I'm not enough of a mathematician to understand what you're after, but does this give you anything you can use?
{size *1.5 "∪"} csub{n=1} csup{m} (X_n)

To me it looks like what RonLugge was asking for. I've seen similar requests a few times, and wonder if it might be something for a feature request. If so, what would be the best approach? I see two possibilities:
  • Asking for each operator to be included in the predefined Math toolbox.
  • Including a new type of user definable operator, the "range operator" (roper?), for the "series" class of operations.
Then again, perhaps this should be a new thread, with a poll. See if we get some suggestions for other approaches here first...

What about:
Code: Select all   Expand viewCollapse view
""  union csub{B} csup{C} A

Thanks to add '[Solved]' at beginning of your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.
