[Solved] Hiding margin outlines

Postby pjstock » Thu Aug 04, 2016 3:03 pm

is it possible to hide the outlines of the margin settings when viewing a slide? see the attached.

I sometimes want to take a screen shot of the slide and the grey outlines are showing up.
many thanks
Peter

Tools > Options > OO > Appearance > General > Text boundaries: OFF

By the way, OO Draw can export a drawing as an image: File > Export > ... File format: (choose whatever image type you want, PNG, JEPG, etc) Set the size of the output image and OK.

many thanks

One little hiccup.
in my version (Libreoffice 4.2.8.2)
when I turn off (uncheck) text boundaries, the line remains.
with this option turned off, when I change the colour (to say Orange) the lines change to Orange.
I only seem to be able to hide them by changing the colour to White
which works, but seems inelegant.
what am I still missing?

Ouch. You're right; I see the same thing. The option turns off margin lines for OO Writer documents but not for Drawings. Weird.

Ehh, no worries. turning the colour to White works.
I just didn't want to be clumsy.
over and out.
and thanks again for looking at this and steering me to the right place.

A quicker solution, assuming you don't want to permanently hide the boundaries, may be "File - preview in browser". That may have other implications, though. (E.g.: Changed pixel resolution, objects slightly offset)

If relevant, you just have to check...
Apache OO 3.4.1/4.1.2/4.1.3, on Ms Windows 7/10 and Mac OS-X 10.8.5 and 10.11.
LibreOffice 4.3.3.2 on Mepis Antix MX 14
