OpenOffice crashing

Postby adrianpaulmiles » Tue Nov 03, 2015 4:58 pm

I have created a fairly large presentation (in that there are a lot of uncomprssed photos in it.) It loads fine as an Office Impress Presentation, but when I try to save and/or play it as a PowerPoint Presentation, the program just crashes and closes

In Impress, try /Tools /Minimise presentation, then Save the minimised version as PPT.

Great! That seemed to work, thank you. Got the file size down from 13MB to just 3MB!

For what it is worth, when I give a presentation I work in .odt format and insist on using my laptop (on which the presentation has been tested) running Xubuntu and OpenOffice "as the software is highly customised". Most lecterns now have a VGA (or other video) connection for visiting lecturers.

I would still minimise the presentation copy in advance for speed.
