Restore Windows

I am having problems getting OpenOffice.org to work after it unexpectedly quit.

I can't get the dialogue box which asks me whether to 'Restore Windows' or 'Don't Restore Windows' to work. This means I can't also get any of the top tabs to be active, and so have to resort to force quit the application.

I also tried to re-instal the application (from 3.4.1 to 4.0.1) but no luck.

Any advice as to what to do?
