The file isn't in the Go menu. You use the Go menu to access the user/libraryI have seach for this file in go menu cant find it "org.openoffice.script.savedState"
Option-click the Go menu
Choose Library from the menu to open the folder in the Finder.
Click on the folder Saved Application State
Delete the file org.openoffice.script.savedState

Re: Restore window locking up
I had this same problem but instead of deleting the file, I just moved it to the trash/emptied the trash without thinking so I'm still having the same problem but now I have no way to fix it.

I have made the same mistake in trashing the script and then emptying trash - is there any way to fix this?? What problem are you having? Moving a file to trash is the same as deleting it.dbond wrote:I have made the same mistake in trashing the script and then emptying trash - is there any way to fix this?? Re: [Solved] Restore window locking up
Hi Larry - problem now resolved by force-quitting OO and reloading, just took me a while to work out the force-quit bit! Thanks

Re: [Solved] Restore window locking up
Sorry, it must be my blond hair, but I REALLY can't find the org.openoffice.script.savedState file. I have been looking in the "hidden" library folder. When I open the User>Username>Library>Application Support>Open Office>4>User folder, there is no such file or folder. Can someone please explain how tho fix this?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Go to /Users/<user name>/Library/Saved Application State and delete "org.openoffice.script.savedState"

Re: [Solved] Restore window locking up
Just want to say "thank you". Reading your various suggestions helped me. I was getting very frustrated with those "locked windows" and then panicked because it seemed that I could not ever open OO again. Following your instructions, I found and deleted the "org.openoffice.script.savedState" but to get a reaction had to do a force quit as well - as suggested by someone on one of the other lists discussing this problem.
I only updated OpenOffice to OO4 on my iMac very recently and wondered whether there was some incompatibility between it and the latest OS update, or, because I live in Germany, might it be something to do with my German keyboard?
