Hi everyone,

since yesterday, the websites "www.openoffice.org", "download.openoffice.org" and "distribution.openoffice.org" seem to be overloaded.

For those who did not have the chance to download the new release 3.0 of OpenOffice:
Go to the cache of "distribution.openoffice.org/mirrors/" and choose a mirror near you from the Extended Mirrors list.

For the English(US) release, go to the folder ./stable/3.0.0/.

Localized versions are available in the folder ./localized/.
However, I would recommend to install the English(US) version and to additionally install the according language pack, as this allows you to switch between US English and the additional language(s).
The language packs are available in the folder ./extended/3.0.0rc4/.

See http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/ ... p?f=6&t=69 for more information on the usage of language packs.

Kind regards,
phil

If you use the p2p distribution, you not only get easy access to the new software, but you also help distributing it.

You are right, Sjoerd. ciarek has created a torrent, see this post.

However, P2P often is not available, especially from corporate networks.
