I'm having problems with slow response times, saving, opening, with large (Writer) documents that have many photos inserted. These are several hundred page diary/journal entries. I assume that the trouble is being caused by image size rather than document size. I think I assumed that images where automatically resized when shrunk down to 2x2 inches in the document ... is that not the case?
TL;DR...
In your guys' experience, do you think I have to resize every single photo I want to put into my journal? I tend to go with 2x2 or 1.5 x 3 per image in a document, but the originals are generally large.
And yes, I have considered using a dedicated journal program, but I like and trust Writer, and I'll keep using it when possible.

Re: Writer: Photo sizing for large (Writer) documents?
AOO/LO do not resize the pictures. They are kept in their initial resolution.
Indeed, you need to resize them before you insert them.
