Calc crashes immediately

Post by kreilein »

At first I thought it was a problem with an .ODS file, but I find that clicking on the desktop shortcut LibreOffice 7.1 immediately crashes. Windows 7 says "LibreOffice has stopped working" Appcrash soffice.bin, module skialo.dll. Does 7.1.6 and 2.2 work with Windows 7? Just installed each with same result.

If you are running a Windows 7 computer, and unable to upgrade to Windows 10/11, I would suggest changing to some version of linux; Most versions of linux can be installed to a USB stick (a "live" usb) and tried out from that without damaging an existing Windows installation, until a version of choice is found.

However, changing from Windows to linux is not for everyone - it needs a different mental approach.

For what it is worth I use Xubuntu on all my computers; that is my linux version of choice. Yours may differ.
