ASCII filter options, file shows only ###

Post by Meismith »

Hello all, I'm not very tech-savvy to say the least. Today I tried to open a spreed sheet, and it came up with a ASCII filter option, then my file opened with all #######. Is there a way to recover my file?
Edit: Changed subject, was ASCII filter options

Your file is corrupt and nothing can be recovered from it. There is a tutorial here about recovering a temporary version but if you saved the file, shutdown the computer and then later found that the file is corrupt, I don't think that tutorial will help.
It is suspected that this corruption happens when the computer is turned off or put in sleep mode too quickly after saving a file. Might that have happened?
