Apparently a recent Windows 10 update may have been responsible for file deletion in a few cases.

The first version of October update had issues, was redrawn by Microsoft and now a new update is tested with fixes.
Esp. people that had downloaded the first version of the update manually before this weekend, should not install it.
It's Microsoft marketing that tells you computers are qualified for non-technicians
