[Solved] Determine an object's layer

Post by pdizzle »

Short of making all layers invisible and viewing them one-at-a-time, is there any way to see what layer an object resides in?

No need for all that trouble, just make them invisible one at a time and see which one makes the object disappear! ;-)

Did you know that Shift+Click on a layer tab toggles its visibility?

No I had not, but Shift+Click is definitely an answer and an awesome shortcut. Thanks acknack

I was hoping for a no-interaction solution like the navigator or some status bar text. This morning I discovered that a selected object's layer is displayed in parentheses in the status bar after the "Slide X / X" text. OK perfect.
