[Solved] Automatic Slide Show Creation?

Post by Jack »

Thanks to the solution via private mail. There's a macro to build a photo album at the link below.

Quick solution.. exactly what this forum is for... thanks! :D

===========================
I've searched the forum for an answer to this but don't see any posts on the subject.. so here goes.

The latest MS PowerPoint has an option to automatically build a slide show from a folder of images based on a template to set the look of all slides. I've been using Impress 2.3 to create a slide show; one slide at a time; one per page. I downloaded Impress 2.4 in the hope that this option has been added... not there as far as I can see. So, since Impress is so powerful I suspect that there's a way to do this and I simply haven't found it yet.

Perhaps someone can clue me in on how to automatically create a slide show from a set of pictures?

Super thanks,

Jack

Please avoid the PM: this is a forum so any discussion should be public, it may help other users. If everyone ask by PM, what's the point having a forum?

This has been discussed at least twice (and one still in the first page of the Impress forum):
- Multi-select for insert picture
- [Solved] Batch Image Import
- [Solved] Insert Multiple Images?

I have downloaded the installer. When I click on "Install" nothing happens. Any ideas what I've done wrong?

I just got it. Thanks for pointing me to this add-on. This alone is enough to steer me away from PPT.

fishcad,

How did you get the macro to install? I click on it and nothing happens also. I tried it with OO on both Winblows and Linux and same result.

Thanks!

The add on is today presented as a zip archive and posts elsewhere say it installs.

"The macros are now packaged as an add-in, with a simple installation routine."

For me here nothing whatsoever happens.

Zero documentation. No crystal ball.

Has anyone actually installed? How specifically? What is supposed to happen?

It may be an extension now. Try to rename it to .oxt and then add it through the Tools>Extension Manager dialog.

The default macros security is set at "High". You might need to change it by going to Tools-Options-OpenOffice-Security. Click the Macro Security button and change it to Medium. This solved my problem getting it to install.
