Microsoft Excel 2003 XML (xml) support?

Post by tango42 »

OpenOffice 2.3 can't read my Microsoft Excel 2003 XML format files (full crash), which I created with O.O 2.0 (on Windows XP)

I am a heavy user of this great format.
Has anybody else seen this problem?
How is the O.O. 2.4 support for this file format?

I now reinstalled O.O 2.0 just to be able to read in my files.

I tried on a file I had on my HD and it seems to work fine with OOo 2.4 (the only glitch I see is that hyperlinks are lost).

Can yo uupload a small sample file here so that we can check?

sounds.zip
zipped Windows 2003 excel-xml file created with O.O 2.0.
This was (as I remember well) the file that causes a hangup in O.O.2.3 (the latest version)

Thanks for your swift replies!
I'll go the same 2.4 installation route and dig deeper in what went wrong the previous time.
