General Input/Output Error

I am facing a general input/output error while opening a calc file, please find attachment.

+1 under xubuntu Hardy and OOo 3.0. That's the problem with closed formats. Perhaps someone with another spreadsheet will manage to open it.

Yesterday evening when i closed this file then it was in 2.* mb size but today morning when i am checking the size its showing 32 Kb.

Any virus that could have done that? Is your anti-virus up to date? Have you checked other files?

If you're under Ubuntu, almost impossible (so few viruses).

You said it was more than 2MB when you closed it. Have you seen this file size after having closed the file? It would mean that something occurred before and when the file has been loaded.

What are expected reasons for "general error".
We are migrating from MSoffice to Openoffice.org and we are facing lot of problem, sometimes file gives "General error" and sometimes got crash, and please let me know that which version of OOorg is best to use.

What are expected reasons for "general error".

We are just users so few information about that. If you've many files impacted, it may be a problem with the version of MS Excel (or any other 3rd party application) used to create them.
