[Solved] Insert Image from Webpage

Hi

Is it possible to insert an image into calc from a webpage?

In my case, the image is a graph that changes everyday.

I know how to use "Link to External Data" from the "Insert" menu, but this only inserts data, not images. Is there a similar way to insert an image that will refresh from the webpage everytime I open the .ods?

Hi,

Try to select some text in addition with the pic and then delete the text. If the pic is not the only selection, the default paste setting in OOo is to link the target.

I don't think it's possible to have an automatically updated external image, but I don't know for sure. That feature is designed for data, not for general web content.

Edit: PS:

You can insert an image through a hyperlink to some file on the web. The image will be re-loaded when you load the spreadsheet, or if you update it manually through Edit > Links. I don't see any way to have it update automatically after some time interval.

Do I try this using "Insert" -- "Hyperling" or "Insert" -- "Link to external data" ?

Insert > Picture > From File. Paste the hyperlink in place of the file name. Make sure the "Link" option is selected.
