[Issue] Date decrements by one day in Calc.

Post by dickc »

When I input a date such as 12/19/07 into a properly formatted cell, it immediately changes to 12/18/07. What gives?

I am using OpenOffice version 2.3.1.

Under TOOLS, OPTIONS, OPENOFFICE.ORG, CALCULATE, I have the date button selected for 12/30/1899 (default) selected.

Forgive me if I am not posting this correctly...I'm a newbie at this.

Thanks for any help,
Richard Chabot

I believe[*] this is your issue: Issue 76623: Wrong formatting and displaying for some dates. The problem is triggered by certain time zone settings (and even time-of-day).

It is fixed in the latest snapshots, and due for public release with OOo 2.4 in March.

[*] E.g., this: Issue 78199: Calc - entering certain date in certain cell automatically decrements the date by 1 day definitely sounds like yours, but was ultimately marked as a duplicate of Issue 76623.[/color]

Thank you acknak,
I will wait and see what happens in the March update.
I also found that rebooting will sometimes correct the problem and in one instance running the ad-aware program corrected it as well.

I am using OpenOffice version 2.4.0 and occasionally the date will still decrement by one day immediately after typing in the date and hitting enter or clicking on another cell. I was hoping this would go away with the new version of OpenOffice.
Thanks for any help,

See end of the bug report comments, there is a new report, you should subscribe and vote for it (up to 2 votes per issue) : Issue 86094 - Date is automatically decremented on input.

I've tagged the thread as Issue.

I guess I should just wait and hope the problem will be addressed and ultimately fixed.

I tried to vote, but it was rejected.....I'm new at this.

To vote, you need to register again, the forum registration is independent from the main OOo web site (but you can use the same information of course).
