Hi there
I'm a newbie to OOo, so apologies if this is obvious. I did search before asking, but couldn't find anything.
I've just installed OOo 3.0 b2 on a new Windows Vista SP1 laptop. I previously used WinWord 2003.
I regularly use Shift-F3 in Word to toggle the case of text (lower-UPPER-Title). I couldn't find a similar function in Writer.
What's the best way to do this in Writer please?
TIA, adze
Newbie Question: How do I change the case of text?
Re: Newbie Question: How do I change the case of text?
Writer has functions for converting text to upper- or lowercase, but not to title case.
Format > Change Case > Uppercase/Lowercase.
OOo doesn't configure any shortcut key for these; you can configure them under Tools > Customize > Keyboard.
You might also try a search: this question comes up often; there may be other/better solutions or workarounds.

This is the Thread that you want. It is rather hard to find with a search.

Re: Newbie Question: How do I change the case of text?
Thanks for your help. I'll give that a go!
This seems to me to be a feature worth emulating, to assist Word users like me to switch. I rely heavily on Shift-F3 and most people I know do as well. I know Writer is not meant to be a Word clone, but some things are just easier to do than to argue about.
Thanks again, adze

Or, there's always the thread that just precedes this one.

Here's a way to do it: Title Case.
