I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with the .U3D file format, but it allows you to view 3D models - but not modify them - in various word processors. (Here's the U3D Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U3D.)
It's supported by all recent versions of Adobe and several other programs. Here is a link to a page where a guy has embedded some 3D models into .PDFs - very cool, as you'll see!

I was wondering whether anybody knows of a way to embed .U3D models into OpenOffice files (and hopefully, then, exported .PDFs, but either way). For instance, I created a 3D model of Batman and I would like to embed it in a story. Is anybody aware of any way this might be possible?
(NOTE: For those people who use the open-source program Blender, I was able to convert models to .U3D format with this add-on: http://s9.zetaboards.com/Ultimate3D_com ... 7308833/1/)
