Writer - Runtime Error after saving

Postby spakki » Sat Nov 07, 2009 2:30 pm

Hey guys,

i've a big problem. I've a document with round about 100 sites. After Saving it again the Writer brings me a runtime error and do not save anything.

I'Ve tried it on different computers and systems. Does anyone have an idea whats wrong?

thanks & greets

What do you mean? Can you explain what is the content of that file?

Try to reset your OOo user profile but don't transfer your personal data during the welcome process (if you had 2.x before), configuration files from the former version might corrupt the new profile.

Else, can you copy the content to another document and save it? Do you use native ODF (.odt) or do you export in .doc?

Content is everything, pics, text, textmarks ...
You can dowload the file here: http://files.me.com/marcel.natalis/mnpxf3 ---> type any letters as password.

Try to change anything and then save and you have the runtime error I have :>

I can't copy the content to a new document -> same error. I do you use native ODF.

I cannot duplicate the error. It works with changes and saving. It is an unusual document for Writer but I don't see anything immediately wrong with it.

It made my system crash but perhaps because it's rather old. Could it be an imported PDF? Impress would be more appropriate for such a document I think.

For me it crashed OpenOffice 3.1.1 Sun (win2k) on exit, but certainly opened correctly, with all inserts (I think). As Hagar says, I think it might be better as an Impress presentation. It should be possible to cut and paste each page into Impress, and arrange one mster slide to hold the invariable formatting. It will need a bit of editing to do that.
