Re: Can LibreOffice import user profile
There is no reason to think it can't use your User Profile, but you'll probably have to move it by hand. At present not much is known about LibO, which is still in beta.

Re: Can LibreOffice import user profile
Hi,
I could use again my whole user profile from OOo 3.2.1--also the customized keyboard shortcuts (on WinXP). [1]
But I suppose that there's no migration of customized keyboard shortcuts before OOo 3.1.0.
That's an OOo issue;
see → Issue 100859: No migration of user-defined shortcut keys from OOo 3.0.1 to 3.1.0 RC1
.
[1]
- Renamed user in ...\LibreOffice\3\user to user_first
- Pasted a copy of user from ...\OpenOffice.org\3\user in ...\LibreOffice\3
[BTW: LibO tried [without further inquiry] to migrate the user profile of an also installed server image OOo 2.4.3]

Thanks, I missed that.I had just added the procedure under [1].
So it's as easy as copying Accelerators.xcu to LibreOffice?

Re: Can LibreOffice import user profile
You cannot copy Accelerators.xcu to LibO 3.3;
and you cannot copy Accelerators.xcu to OOo 3.3.
There has been a substantial change to the configuration (and the user profile has no longer any folder registry,
instead of that a file registrymodifications.xcu).
See:
→ GullFOSS: A new configuration by Stephan Bergmann, 2009-12-07
→ OOoWiki: Performance/Configuration [last modified on 2010-08-12]
My customized user profile from OOo 3.2.1 has 681 MB with 404 folders and 6,790 files.
Most of them work in LibO 3.3-beta1 / OOo 3.3-dev.
But I had to replace e.g. autotext, basic\Standard once more after the migration of the OOo 3.2.1 user profile.
I had also to adjust some settings under Tools > Options, and customized icons in the toolbars disappeared.
I think, best would be to try the migration with the complete user profile, and then to paste/add some not transfered files/settings once more.
BTW: I don't know the version of your OOo.
and you cannot copy Accelerators.xcu to OOo 3.3.

Thanks,
I'll read your articles as soon as possible.
My OS is OS X 10.6.4 and OOo 3.2.1.
I have .../registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Acceleators.xcu and when I open it in a text editor it seems to contain my personal keyboard shortcuts.

Maybe I could try to install OOo 3 beta first and then install LibO. Then I could copy registrymodifications.xcu to LibO ?There has been a substantial change to the configuration (and the user profile has no longer any folder registry,

I assume that registrymodifications.xcu picks up the settings in Accelerators.xcu

Re: Can LibreOffice import user profile
Yes, OOo 3.2.1 still comes with the folder "registry" and "Accelerators.xcu".
"Accelerators.xcu" will be migrated to "registrymodifications.xcu" in OOo 3.3.0.
Example:
Developer Snapshot OOo-dev 3.3.0 (OOO330_m9) –
registrymodifications.xcu (excerpt "Accelerators") I would suggest to install the Developer Snapshot OOO330_m9 [1],
with more bug fixes than OOo 3.3.0 Beta (OOO330_m3).
OOO330_m9 will create the user profile .../OOo-dev/3/user by default.
I don't know if that will work:
to paste only "registrymodifications.xcu" in the user profile of LibO 3.3.
But that also depends on your overall configuration of OOo.

For the purpose of comparison:
OOo 3.2.1 Accelerators.xcu (excerpt)
"Accelerators.xcu" will be migrated to "registrymodifications.xcu" in OOo 3.3.0.

Thanks franx,
Now I know in which files personal keyboard shortcuts are stored.
I will do the migration when LibOffice comes out with a stable version and there is a language pack in my locale.

Re: Can LibreOffice import user profile
Hello
I have a question about the import of user profile.
I have just installed LibreOffice, and I would like to know if I can import the settings (user info, extensions, custom dictionaries, autocorrect options, etc...) I have been using with OpenOffice into LibreOffice. If it is possible, how can I do it?
It's worth noting that a search on Google on that matter returns no answer to that issue. Though I guess that users who are switching to LibreOffice would also like to import their OpenOffice settings.
Thanks in advance for your help.

is there any way to manually export the hotkeys from a 3.2.1 Accelerators.xcu file into the new 3.3 registrymodifications.xcu file?franx wrote:Yes, OOo 3.2.1 still comes with the folder "registry" and "Accelerators.xcu".

I don't see any way to export the hotkeys manually, because Tools > Customize > Keyboard > Save [as *.cfg] is broken in OOo 3.2.1 (but that works again in OOo 3.3).

yes, I had to manually enter again each hotkey... it was boring but it had to be done
