OOo 3.2 Crashing using copy-paste ODT-DOC

Post by pauliw25 »

I have run across a strange problem with OO3.2 running on Windows 7 Home Premium - 32 bIt.

1. First I OPEN a ODT file.
2. Then I do a SELECT ALL and COPY.
3. Now I OPEN a DOC file.
4. Then I do a SELECT ALL and PASTE.

Immediately upon selecting PASTE - Openoffice 3.2 crashes on my computer. No error message provided by OO3.

In the DOC file are you intending that _everything_ should be replaced by the data pasted from the .odt file? If not, you do not need the second Select All.

If you are attempting to paste all from the .odt file into the .doc file, there are other ways to do this. You can simply open the .odt file and Save As, selecting Word 97 (.doc format) from the drop down, or you can open a new .odt file, and File / Insert the .odt file. If you are inserting the entire .odt (as your first Select All implies) you can position your cursor in the .doc file and then do File / Insert your .odt file.

No. I am not replacing everything. I am keeping the Header and Footer in the .doc file.
