Missing vcl Resource

Post by mlake »

Welcome beginner. Please answer all of the questions below which may provide information necessary to answer your question.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Which version of OpenOffice.org are you using? 3.0
What Operating System (version) are you using? openSUSE 11.0
What is your question or comment? I just installed openSUSE on my system and OO 3.0 is the version which is included. OO installed okay but when I try to start it up I get an error message "Missing vcl resource." and OO quits. What do I need to do to correct this?
OOo 3.0.X on openSuse 11

Have you at least one localization installed (e.g. openoffice.org3-en-US), see:

There are a few other suggested explanations if you search the net for them. Otherwise try installing OOo from the OOo site.

The versions that are included with the various Linux distributions are re-worked versions of the Sun version of OOo. I always like to uninstall the distro version and install the Sun OOo version.
