You download is most likely corrupt. Download from the OOo official site http://download.openoffice.org/2.3.1/index.html . OpenOffice does not contain Word. Its word processor is Writer and is compatible with older versions of Word. Word 2007 formats are not yet supported but will be in the future. Go here to read more about OOo. http://www.openoffice.org/index.html
See this thread for more info http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic ... nsis+error and this one http://nsis.sourceforge.net/Why_do_I_get_NSIS_Error .

The full version of Vista doesn't have Word either, or at best a trial version.
OpenOffice 4.1.11 on Ubuntu; LibreOffice 6.4 on Linux Mint, LibreOffice 7.6.2.1 on Ubuntu
