[Solved] Error Messages with 2.4 and 2.4.1

Post by Malcolm »

I have installed Version 2.4 from download, from a magazine disk and now Version 2.4.1 from download under Windows XP SP2 and receive the following four error messages on opening any package:
1. "Error loading BASIC of document file:///C:/Program%20Files/OpenOffice.org%202.4/program../share/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/8.tmp_/WriterTools.oxt/script.xlb General Error. General input/output error"
2. "Error loading BASIC of document file:///C:/Program%20Files/OpenOffice.org%202.4/program../share/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/B.tmp_/AltSearch.oxt/AltSearch.script.xlb. General input/output error"
3. "Error loading BASIC of document file:///C:/Program%20Files/OpenOffice.org%202.4/program../share/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/8.tmp_/WriterTools.oxt/dialog.xlb General Error. General input/output error"
4. "Error loading BASIC of document file:///C:/Program%20Files/OpenOffice.org%202.4/program../share/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/B.tmp_/AltSearch.oxt/AltSearch.dialog.xlb. General input/output error"

Accepting these error messages, the package loads and works, apparently, correctly. The messages did not occur with Version 2.3.1. Any ideas please.

Try to rename the files dialog.xlc and script.xlc in your OOo user profile (\Documents and settings\<user>\Application data\OpenOffice.org2\user\basic). If it works, you should edit (with a basic text editor) the renamed files, remove the lines related to the missing files and give them their original name.

The problem comes from the extensions, you should reinstall them.

Thanks to add '[Solved]' at beginning of your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.
