[Solved] Difference between Calc on Linux and Windows

Post by douglascaixeta »

Hi,

I use openOffice 3.0.1 for Fedora Linux.

I was wondering why I cannot see the color on the formulation while I'm editing it. I thought that was a problem with openOffice, but I tested on openOffice for Windows and it's working.

On Windows

I want F16 and F17 highlighted like the last image.

Have you the version provided by your distro?

Works fine for me with the Sun version and xubuntu Hardy:

You should try to install the version from the OOo web site.

Yes, it seems to be a shortcoming of the Fedora build of OOo: both 2.4.2 and 3.0.1 from OO.org do the correct color highlighting, but 2.4.2 from Fedora shows only black text.

Not so quick, young fellows! One of Calc's view options controls if the colours are shown or not.
Edit: ... but when I turn it off I don't see the borders around the referenced cells neither.

Yes, this options do not work at all!

If someone would like to contribute, here is a report that I made on BugZilla:

I won't contribute to any of the different Linux-flavours of BrokenOffice.org.
I support the original by Sun.

I didn't knew about this difference. For me was the same software.
I removed the distro one, and installed the 'original by Sun' and now its working.

Thanks
