This morning when I loaded a document, I got the ASCII Filter Options Dialogue box. It had never come up before, so I clicked on OK. My document loaded as a page full of ##### signs. I saved it as a dummy file, then tried several other Character Set options that looked like they might be the right ones. No such luck!
I then removed the Open Office program using the Add/Remove programs in the Control Panel, then downloaded another copy of Open Office 2.4.1.
When I tried it, I still got the ASCII box, with the same results. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the ASCII Filter Options dialogue box, preferably permanently, and get my document to open correctly? HELP!

I don't think there is anything to do
What kind of document? Were you saving on HD or jumpdrive? ...
See here for a similar issue: Document corrupted?
Good luck.
