Migration from MS Office to OO

Hi @ all!

I have a question about migration from MSO to OO. It is not the problem with macros from MSO Documents, but we have a software (LIMS) where we have a COM Interface to MSO to generate Word and Excelfiles from the LIMS. Now the question: which alternatives are known for COM!? Which will be the right (or the only?) way to automation OO?

I hope someone can help us!!
