[Solved] Is Windows 7 (64-bit) supported?

Post by Jesant13 »

I will be getting a laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) and after doing some research today I discovered that it only comes with Notepad and WordPad. Since I enjoy using OpenOffice.org on my Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit) PC and on the school laptop that I use (which runs on Mac OS X Leopard) I was curious as to if OpenOffice.org supports the 64-bit version of Windows 7.

If it isn't supported, will it still work?

The 32bit version works fine. You do need a 32bit version of Java to go with it.

Are you saying that the 32-bit version of OpenOffice.org will work on the 64-bit version of Windows 7?

Yes. Plenty of threads about 64bit here.

Thanks to add '[Solved]' at beginning of your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.

Okay, thanks for the help. I just wanted to make sure so I wouldn't have to risk going through the trouble of downloading, installing, and then uninstalling OOo.
