I'm using Windows 2000, and have just installed OpenOffice 2.3.
On my hard drive, In folder WINNT > FONTS, I have a large collection of TrueType fonts, but I can't figure
out how to get OpenOffice.Org Writer to show them in the fonts list. I've scanned the forum here, and get the impression that either a) this should be automatice, or b) there is a "wizard" that might help me, but I've not been able to locate it.
Have re-booted several times after installing OO, but still see no TrueType fonts.
What dumb thing am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance
Curt Carpenter

Weird. I've already added fonts on my W2k system by just dragging the .ttf files in to the fonts folder but I don't recall having a WINNT folder, it's rather \Windows\ IIRC.

Are those fonts properly installed? Did you use the standard Windows procedure (Control Panel - Fonts - Install new font)?

Try running Fix Fonts Folder utility from High-Logic. It fixes problems in the Windows fonts registry. I'm not too sure if it works on Win 2000, but there is probably no harm in trying.

Re: [SOLVED] Windows 2000, TrueType Fonts and OO2.3
The Fix Font Folder utility from Mr. Pesala seems to have done the trick. Many thanks.
I'm new to Win2000 as well as Open Office, so have much to learn. Before, my fonts were always "just there"
Thanks again,
Curt
