OpenOffice 3.0; VIsta OS.
I have read the few postings regarding "disabling" the "Create a New Document" interface (the one that remains after the current document is closed) but none seems to really answer the question.
Is there a way to not have that window appear/remain open?
Thanks
Jim

Re: Eliminate "Welcome OpenOffice.org" "create new" window
Hi and welcome to the forums.
Do you mean programmatically? Or you want it to go away when you close your last document 'manually'?
If the latter, can't you close the last document with the red cross button, not the smaller black/grey cross button?

Re: Eliminate "Welcome OpenOffice.org" "create new" window
I work for a content management software company and a client wants to use OpenOffice in lieu or MSWord; so it's pretty important that our software controls when/how/where a document is created. My fear is that someone is going to use that interface (since it remains) to start a new story; we won't be controlling it; they "lose" their work - and so on and so on.
I'm not a programmer - but if you know a solution, I'll pass it on to one of our programmers.

I don't personally know of a method, but if we leave this thread open someone might come past who does know.

Hi,
if you want to deactivate the StartCenter/StartModule,
you could try two possibilities:
(1)
Delete or rename the file <Setup-start.xcu>.
Path:
...\OpenOffice.org 3\Basis\share\registry\modules\org\openoffice\Setup\Setup-start.xcu
(2)
Install the extension <DisableStartModule.oxt> which is available in ->

Re: [Solved+Issue] Eliminate 3.0 Start Center
I also was irked by the "start center" whenever I started OO. Found the disablestartcenter extension which got rid of it. Thanks to all who provided this.
