Drop down menu fields in converted table

I’m converting a music catalog from Filemaker to Base. I’ve figured most everything out except the following. In the main table there were two fields that were populated by a pull down menu with choices from two other tables, Genre and Instrumentation. When I converted the main table those two fields came with data already in them. How can I match those fields to the two new Genre and Instrumentation tables in Base? The choices are the same, that is there should be no data in the fields in the main table that is not available as a choice in the two sub-tables. I hope that's clear.

If I understand you correctly, what you need is to set up relationships (Tools -> relationships).
