Strange problem with .ppt

Post by lokifc »

Hello,
When I tried to open one .ppt file OOffice showed me this:
Image
Translation: Settings of ASCII filter
Properties----------------------
Charset: [Cyrillic (Windows-1251) [v] [OK]
Standart font: [Times New Roman [v] [Cancel]
Language: [Russian [v] [Help]
Paragraph break: ●CR&LF ○CR ○LF

But OOffice can open some other .ppt files (I don't know the difference between them). How I can open this files?
Sorry for my English
Do you understand my problem?
Thanks in advance :)

This dialog appears when OOo does not recognize the type of file you are opening. If this happens, and it is a file that OOo can normally deal with, then the appearance of this dialog usually means that the file is damaged, to the point that OOo cannot recognize it.

If the document is ODF (OOo's native format; ".odp" for presentations), or newer MS Office (.pptx), then you may be able to recover some data even though the file is damaged. If it's the older binary file format (.ppt) then it's likely that nothing can be done for it.
