Import a Microsoft XLS spreadsheet into Base

Post by Walter 2468 »

I have a Microsoft XLS spreadsheet that has two columns of data. How can I import that data? I already have a table in Base that has two columns with the same name as the two columns in the XLS spreadsheet.

Have a look to import calc sheet into base. You might need a conversion step from excel sheet to calc sheet.

Spreadsheet cells are all the same once they are loaded into Calc. They have numbers, text, errors or nothing in them. IMHO it is best practice to import cells into well prepared database tables with restrictive types, rules and indices since spreadsheet data are unreliable.
